Skye & Lochalsh Food Link

Stunning Food, Spectacular Scenery

Skye and Lochalsh Food Link was launched in 2000 when a group of restaurateurs, hoteliers and producers met to discuss ways in which local food could be better distributed within the area.

Our objective is to encourage the increased use and production of local food within Skye and Lochalsh. One of our principal activities is running a distribution service between local producers and hospitality providers and retailers .

The service operates during the main tourist season and runs from the beginning of April until the end of October.

Food Link also strives to promote the economic, environmental, community and health benefits of local food and endeavours to build networks and create links between local producers and consumers.

The Taste Local Awards encourage the use of local produce, allow producers to thank businesses for their custom and show the public where local food is used (or retailed) and promoted.

Skye and Lochalsh Food Link is a company limited by guarantee. It became a Community Interest Company in 2007.
