Glendrynoch Garden
Watercress
Our watercress is grown in our own tested spring water using Nutrient Film Technology (NFT). Growing watercress suits us very well as we can adjust the volume grown fairly easily within a few weeks. We are delighted that it is considered extremely beneficial to health. According to a newspaper article in 2002, the best way to buy it is bunched, which is the way we sell it!

Skye Fruit & Fungi
Mushrooms (Shiitake and Oyster) & Strawberries
We’re crofting neighbours who started our business in 2003 having grown mushrooms as a hobby. Locally harvested hardwood logs are impregnated with spore on the croft and no herbicides or pesticides are used. We grow strawberries outdoors and also in polytunnels; we will expand into cranberries, blueberries, cloudberries and lingonberries when weather and rabbits permit.

Skye Berries
Blueberries, currants, raspberries, brambles
I grow a wide range of soft fruits and some tree fruits. Although I’m not registered Organic I keep to the organic standards as far as I am aware. I have selected varieties for taste and fruits are field ripened for maximum flavour. I do most of the work myself, spending much of the winter getting the plants ready for next season but I get paid help with the picking.

Skye Vegetables
Interesting and unusual vegetables, and baby vegetables
I grow crops outdoors and in a polytunnel; raised beds allow me to grow many varieties selected for interest and taste, over a long season. Vegetables include French beans and carrots in different colours and shapes, baby vegetables (turnip, cauliflower etc) spinach, pak choi, fennel, salad potatoes, rhubarb, and more all grown as naturally as possible, without the application of pesticides to crops. I supply hotels, restaurants and individuals.

The Isle of Skye Fresh Produce Company
Culinary herbs, oriental salads & other leaf crops, many grown to order
Having "downsized" from one of Europe's largest horticultural businesses to one of the smallest, we are now growing produce with an emphasis on freshness and quality for the majority of the top hotels and restaurants in Skye and Lochalsh. We have rapidly built up a large and loyal customer base, and have also had significant success selling to retail outlets throughout the area.
